Mrs. Bernadene Davis
February 13, 1972 - September 17, 2015
Oh Beaulah Land Sweet Beaulah Land, as on the highest mount I stand, I look away across the sea where mansions are prepare for me and view the shining glory shore, my heaven my home forevermore. 43 years ago a part of God’s creation, Bernadene Suzette Lebert-Davis blessed us, but today she has found her way on the heavenly shore. Although we experience the sorrow of loss and the pain of separation, we can’t help but embrace the smile of happy memories, and the inspirational hope of the legacy Bernadene left behind. One the fateful day of September 17, 2015, she was beckoned beyond the bright horizon. Bernadene Suzette Lebert-Davis, daughter of Arlene Clarke and Dudley Lebert was born on February 13, 1972 of humble beginning in Kingston, Jamaica WI. She was collectively loved and by her family, and this affection that she experienced was transmitted to her family and loved ones alike. Soon after, she went to live with her grandparents Charles and Ruth Bowen-Clarke in Cacoon Castle, Hanover. The wisdom book of Proverb 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and understanding. Bernadene was taught to fear God. During her formative years, her grandparents ensured that she developed a personal relationship with her Maker. Her life was marked with godliness, a blessing to her family, her community and those who have come to know her. She has taught us the lesson of how to do things right, how to be a mother, to appreciate life and how to be courageous and ambitious. She lived by the code that that we can achieve anything we want. She received her early education at Holy Bible Prep School Kingston and later at Pembroke Hall High. In order to realize her dreams of a better life and her vision of helping her family and the wider society, she migrated to the USA and attended Bauder College where she obtained a degree in Fashion Design. This explains her strong sense of fashion. Still seeking further opportunities, she cofounded Corbin Ashby Construction, and founded Ruth Bowen Real Estate, a vibrant real estate company, which is named after her grandmother- her absolute idol and mentor. She was passionate about her, because she just could not forget the beauty of holiness that was inculcated in her. She would share this memory with anyone who would listen. Bernadene was described as a honest, loving and decent lady, with a vibrant personality. The spirit of comradery was the hallmark of her vocation life. Her kindness knew no boundary, she was always giving. As the vivacious Bernadene blossomed into a beautiful young lady, she met and married Robert Davis at age 18 and that union produced two children, Robert Davis Jr and Desaree Davis. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Bernadene could not abstain from the love of God, and this spiritually abided with her to the end. Her passing is the end of an era marked with dream for her children, her family, her colleagues and her community. She is survived by: parents Arlene and Dudley, stepfather Glen, husband Robert, daughter Desaree, step-daughter Kelly, grand AJ, the apple of her eye; siblings, Andrew, Allan, Kirk, Sheryl, Princess Keisha, Angela, Michael Anthony, Mark, Ava, Allomar, Robert, Andre, Sherine, Christopher and Candice; and a host of other relatives and friends. Bernadene Suzette Davis has gone now, directed by her faith and by the light of those that has loved and lost. At last she is with them once more, leaving those of us who grieve her passing with the memories she gave, the good that she did, the dream she kept alive and a single enduring image- the image a woman with a better sense of self, smiling broadly as she blazed her trail, ready for whatever storm may come, carrying on toward some new and wondrous place just beyond the horizon- the sweet by and by. May her soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on her
